The Upper Sangamon River Conservancy and River Watch are entering year 5 of our 10 study of freshwater mussels in the Sangamon River. Join us for one or all four opportunities to be a community scientist! Duties include collecting, tagging, measuring, and photographing the mussels. Volunteers should wear clothes and old shoes, such as old sneakers, that are suitable for getting muddy and soaked. A change of clothes is also advisable for a comfortable ride home. Recommended personal items include a water bottle, bug repellent, sunscreen, and a hat. A lunch will be provided for this event. No experience is necessary. This event is free, but registration is required. To reserve your spot contact Bruce Colravy at bmcolravy@msn.com.
