Every year since 2009, the USRC has participated in the Illinois RiverWatch program. We monitor 4 sites on the Sangamon River and 2 tributaries to the Sangamon. In addition to collecting habitat information, we collect macro-invertebrates to be identified and counted at an open lab later in the year. This is a great way to learn about aquatic invertebrates and stream ecology, while making a meaningful contribution to science.

The cost to for the workshop is $50.00. If cost is a barrier to your participation or if you have other questions, please contact me, Bruce Colravy at citizenscience@sangamonriver.org. We have a limited number of sponsorships to cover costs. Sponsorships will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
