Join us for our Annual Cleanup on the Sangamon River from Lake of the Woods downriver to the IL Hwy 47 Bridge.

Meet up at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, starting at 8:45am.

Canoes and kayaks are available to all FREE OF CHARGE! But you MUST REGISTER ONLINE for this event. Please register if you would like to use one of our boats or will be bringing your own.

We’ll be cleaning up an area beginning at Lake of the Woods, putting in at the spillway just past the Izaak Walton Cabin and cleaning the river to the Sangamon Greenway, where the Sangamon River crosses under IL Hwy 47. The Greenway Parking Lot is on the Northeast corner of that bridge just behind the large Indian.

We’ll meetup at Lake of the Woods, at the Museum of the Grand Prairie Parking Lot and after the cleanup, shuttle people back from the Greenway parking lot. There will be a large dumpster at the Greenway parking lot.

There will be a picnic lunch afterward with food provided by the USRC for all volunteers. Cleanup portion should end between 1 and 2pm. Lunch around 2.

Please arrive at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve by 8:45.
