Join the USRC for a float trip this Saturday, July 19 at 8:30 am.

We will put in at the Sangamon River Greenway, where IL 47 (aka Division Street) crosses the Sangamon River on the Northeast corner. There is a parking lot here. We will end at the Piatt County Park right where the Sangamon River crosses out of Champaign County and into Piatt. This is on CR00.

We will need a volunteer to park the transport vehicle down at Piatt County Park, this about a 30 minute roundtrip, so we should start the car shuttle about 7:45.

This is another longer trip, just over 7 miles, with potentially unknown blockages. That’s what we’ll be exploring this time out. Allow 4 hours on the water, so the trip should take til about 1pm altogether, if all goes well.

As usual, the USRC should have plenty of canoes available to USRC members. Not a member? No problem, you can join on site for $20. There may be a limited number of kayaks available as well.

If you are interested it is imperative that you RSVP with Scott by Friday morning July 18th. All members should let me know you’re coming even if you are bringing your own craft since we’ll be trying to arrange single-vehicle transport to the put-in spot.

We hope to see you on the river!
