The USRC has set the RiverWatch monitoring schedule. If you are interested in participating in any or even perhaps all of the RiverWatch monitoring events, please reply to Bruce at the email address  below. We like to have at least 3 people for each event, but would be more comfortable with 6 or more.

This year we are trying to spend considerably more effort on our habitat survey. We will begin building field guides using iNaturalist for each monitoring site.  If identification of plant species is something for which you have an aptitude, or for which you are just interested we would love to have you join us.  If you have an interest in the invertebrates in our streams, this is also for you.

We have opportunities for those who like to get their feet wet and opportunities for “bankers,” those who would like to help, but would prefer to stay out of the water. All supplies will be provided except waders.  Some people like to wear old sneakers, others bring waders; you choice. Wear clothes that can get wet and muddy and bring a change of clothes for a more comfortable ride home.

The schedule is tentative, because our ability to monitor depends on acceptable water levels. Monitoring usually take about 3 hours.

If you are interested in taking part in any or all of these opportunities please contact Bruce Colravy at 369-5376 or by email at bmcolravy@msn.com.

No experience is necessary, only an interest in our rivers and streams.
